About Round Lake Road

This road is about 4 miles from Camp Sherman and features up close views of six big mountains: Three Fingered Jack, North Sister, Middle Sister, Black Butte, Mt. Washington, and Mt. Jefferson. 

Recommended route: Round Lake Road from Riverside Campground (24.8 miles; +1877')

This route begins at Riverside Campground. Other places to begin the route include the Camp Sherman Store (at mile 1.5) or the Metolius Preserve North Parking Area (at mile 3.8). From the Camp Sherman area it heads west on the easy Lake Creek Trail before climbing to Round Lake (at mile 11.5). Spectacular views of several mountains occur at the top of Round Lake Road (approximately mile 11 to mile 13). Don't miss the turn-off to Round Lake at mile 11.4. At mile 17.1, the route heads west on the Lake Creek Trail to the Suttle Lodge on Suttle Lake, where there is a restaurant.
