Dunn Forest & Environs Map

About the Dunn Forest & Environs Map

The OSU Department of Forestry has published a map for Dunn Forest and two maps of McDonald Forest. The limitations of these maps are that they do not show roads and trails on land owned by adjacent property owners. The map below features routes that connect McDonald Forest with Dunn Forest through Starker Forests Soap Creek Tree Farm (for which a free permit is required).

This map shows roads on land that is closed to public access. The author of this website encourages compliance with the policies of private landowners and federal, state, and local laws including those prohibiting trespassing. Please refer to the terms of use for this website for more information.

You can download a high resolution image of this map for printing.

Dunn Forest hunting schedule

Oregon State University maintains a unique hunting schedule for Dunn Forest (see schedule here). See the official schedule for this updates and this year's specific dates.

Historically, June and July are the only months when hunting has not been allowed. There have been "no hunting" periods in early to-mid April and early to mid-August. Firearm deer season has occurred in January, February, March, October, and early November. Deer and elk archery has been allowed from late August to late September and mid-November to mid-December. Turkey season has been mid-April to the end of May. Here the historical schedule month-by-month:
